- your name: imProteus - conspicuous Player(s) name: [OTaC] sHoOtMuP - time of incident: 1:40AM EST, July 31, 2018 - incident description: sHoOtMuP told me to remove scroll shooting and I reminded him that we discussed it in teamspeak literally the day before (Lt_Jackson can vouch for me, he was in the teamspeak while we talked). Then he kicked me, with no reason on the command. When I rejoined, I then got a 5 minute tempban. I do not use scroll shooting, as I stated to sHoOtMuP and Lt_Jackson yesterday, I do not have my fire key bound to the scrollwheel. I would appreciate not being harassed by one of your members, thanks. |

Shoot and MrT remember the conversation differently. Shoot's interpretation led him and T to believe you were flagrantly disobeying the command to remove the bind after he told you to do so. They thought they heard you say that you did indeed have it mapped to fire and that you would not use it anymore or map it to a different key. I was on TS the next day when you told us your side of the story. I feel that both sides have different recollections on what had transpired, but when you explained it in TS the next day, I believe you didn't have it mapped to fire, didn't use it to fire and have no desire to do so. You also stated the method of switching guns (default mapping) to the scroll wheel and they may have seen you use it at the beginning of a map to show rapid fire, but not while shooting at an enemy. As we stated in TS the second conversation, you should not do this in the future, and you said you understood that and won't do so again. I also believe you have an amazingly fast trigger finger, of which I have absolutely no problem with. Being able to manually fire rapidly is not a violation of any of our rules. In my opinion, this incident should be forgotten by both parties. I also suggest that you, Proteus get on TS when MacKay or Bitter is on to just review your statements with them. As you are one of the amazing players that frequent our server, you probably will be asked to be placed into a group that will restrict your K/D and weapons. This is done as a handicap for extremely good players. Most players that fall into this category accept and abide by the restrictions which are automatically enforced by the BitterBot. However, it is your choice to continue to frequent the server once these restrictions are placed. I felt you conducted yourself in a good fashion when you joined us in TS and I would welcome you to the server and TS in the future. This incident will need to be addressed by a senior admin. As I am not, the above is only my opinion and has no weight on how this will be resolved. |

Adminning is imperfect, it is a judgement call and it is subjective because each admin has a different skill-level. To both imProteus and ShootMup ..... RECORD A DEMO ...... Everything discussed is heresay without a demo. We can scrutinize what is seen in the demo. Without it there is no action to be taken as there is no way to determine who is right or wrong. |

imProteus, a number of admin were able to demonstrate to me the way you were using the scrollwheel to switch weapon in conjunction with the fire button to achieve a machine gun burst on a semi-auto. While that is a creative way to do it, it is cleary poor sportsmanship at the very least and will bee deemed "scrollwheel fire" as both scrollwheel use and firing are main components of the end result. I am instructing any and all admin to remove you from the server if you are seen doing this in the future. It is not allowed. Anything that looks like it is faster than a twitchy finger mouse click should not be used. If your dexterity is so proficient that you can achieve super-human god-like fire rate, we would ask that you spare us mere mortals and tone it down.
