This post is just a heads up to let everyone know about this player, who behaved in a similar way to i_puddings who Anzac recently banned. The day before yesterday (so 19th Dec. in the US) a player using the name Sirroscoe came into our WaW server. Right from the get-go they were running and (as new players often do) ignoring repeated warnings regarding breaking the rules. They were also asking multiple personal type questions of different players, to the point where I asked if they were an identity thief. After I had given them a number of warnings for running, Sirroscoe asked me, in Global text, if I was a Vet. I replied Yes. They then asked me my MOS number. As I could see that replying to this would inevitably lead to a lengthy text conversation, disruptive to all involved in the game, I did not respond. Sirroscoe then began to abuse me saying I was not a vet, that I didn't know what a MOS number was and that I shouldn't be saying I was a vet when I wasn't. A number of the regular players then began to defend me in text. I could see the game was being hijacked by this clown, so I trolled him, and he then kicked himself, with a further abusive text regarding micro managing players and did not return. Clearly he did not know that I am Australian. That I was a sig in the 8th Signal Regiment, of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). That I received my discharge from service in 1972 and that the ADF does not use the MOS system of categorising service specialisation. (I believe that it is a US system). I expect that when this player discovers the paucity of populated servers, he will return to our server so I am posting this to give a heads up to all admins, members and sponsored admins of the sort of behaviour they can expect from this clown. |

If you had banned him, my morning coffee would have tasted exactly the same as it always has. Its highly likely that he himself is not a vet, just a troll. With Christmas season here there a few more people with a bit of time off and nothing to do. Sadly unsurprising. No one on this server should have to defend themselves against allegations of stolen valour or any false claims. Certainly not you, Humber. Nip it in the bud next time and just ban him. You said he asked enough questions to cause you to wonder if he wasnt engineering an identity theft, and I think thats reasonable enough grounds to dismiss him from the server permanently. |

Hey Humber, when we get people of that "caliber" coming into the server it is best to act with caution because you never quite know why they are asking so many personal questions. Like Tip said, cut em off at the knees when they get too personal and won't back off. Tis the season for the oddballs to come out to play. I had an Islamic Free State nut come into TS a couple of mornings ago and began a rather loud and obnoxious audio spam (I think Blunder was there also) and had to be banned. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. |
