At first i´d like to say hello to everyone who knows me since many month from the otac.server ! - i am from Germany - 47 years old - ex sergant german airforce defend squad ( 1989-1993 ) - independent as a painter I like modeling ( Architecture ) ,NASCAR ( online racing ), camping and Call of Duty I like every guy who respect the rules and i´d like every guy kicking ass who wants to kidding us on the otac server !!! I am playing since many month on this server and saw so many guys coming,who wont accept any rule in their lifes ! So,sometimes i am wondering.....how many chances these guys get to follow the server rules !? Within 5 Minutes these guys get tons of information whats wrong or right . But,.....the OTAC Admins are cool like BIG DADDY  Dont you think the Otac server will be more interesting for 100 players who are following the rules,when the guys who WONT accept any rule get kicked much quicker ? Sometimes i think,50 % of my game is gone for information to these guys,who WONT READ,CANT HEAR or love it to provoke !!! Then i ask myself: " What i am doing here on this server " ??? The server and a lot of players are absolutly nice. But day by day and hour by hour we are spending to much time with guys who arent able to accept any rule !!! Sorry,...but IT SUCKS !!! Dont discuss with these guys because the most of them wants to kidding this server / the admins and the gamers ! And i my opinion we dont need gamers who wont accept the rules ! Warning 1 Warning 2 KICK ( within 3 Minutes ) ....and at the next day THE WILL LEARN & ACCEPT !!! Because these guys got kicked quickly,the game QUALITY STAY high as we want it ! If we discuss more than 3 minutes,....many good gamers will leave the server because there is NO REASON to stay with guys who are working against the rules more than 10 minutes per round !!! I would kick everyone on a heartbeat that can not follow the rules. That would be the easy way. Not even warn anyone. run -> kick. But then what would happen to those guys that missed the first warning and then speak with us and follow the rules? What would happen to those that only pay attention to the chat after they see the last warning text in red? As much as i would like a more direct aproach to rule breaking, the system we have is great! First time i got to this server i was walking around like a muppet. But then some admin wrote my name and asked me politely to follow the rules and proceded to explain stuff. I liked that stuff he explained and i never ever player on another server since. Had he kicked me right out i would not understand stuff... And admins are in the server to play like any other player. Like you, they sometimes see a rule breaker and act on it. Or sometimes they see it was just an accidental run/walk and dont even say anything about it. Or sometimes they just do not care. Our admins are not on a payroll and sometimes they just do not care... real life has a high toll on our capacity to deal with bullcrap... I do however apreciate the work you put in, asking players to follow the rules, But may i suggest a more soft aproach? DUDE CROUCH SERVER RULES !!!!11111 sometimes can do more harm than good

Thank you SgtHill, I am sorry if I misunderstand, are you applying to be an OTAC member? If so, I will move your post to the application area. Thank you for your comments. .....how many chances these guys get to follow the server rules !? New players get 3 written warnings. If an admin feels he or she has a good chance to work with the player (they see player is: from another country, makes a response, etc.), more chances may be given. Returning players may be kicked without warning. Dont you think the Otac server will be more interesting for 100 players who are following the rules,when the guys who WONT accept any rule get kicked much quicker ? Fairness will not always be a popular opinion. It has always been a balancing act for us. We must provide an enjoyable gaming atmosphere (removing non-compliant and cheating players), while at the same time, being patient with new players who may not understand the rules, or players who feel they are following the rules but are still making mistakes. What we feel makes OTAC a unique and great server is, our value of Patience and Fairness. Then i ask myself: " What i am doing here on this server " ??? I hope your answer is: "These people are very respectful of ALL people, even trolls. They remove the players that need to be removed. I can tolerate a few interruptions for all of the other good times I have here." And i my opinion we dont need gamers who wont accept the rules ! Warning 1 Warning 2 KICK ( within 3 Minutes ) It is our policy to kick new players with Warning 1, Warning 2, Final Warning, Kick. Sometimes this can be done within 3 minutes. Sometimes it is done in 30 seconds, with crazy runners. It depends on the player. If a player breaks the rules continuously, then the player is kicked soon. If the player breaks rules occasionally, then it takes longer to go through the warnings. One improvement I DO see we can make is; put fewer lines of text up on the field. Sometimes it becomes a text-fest, with more than one admin making warnings. Other helpful guests begin typing as well. We appreciate all the help our guests give. I think we should think about being more efficient with our text warnings. We cant make the new players break the rules any more conveniently though. ------------------ Something Really Witty!!! I dont know how long i am playing on the OTAC server ! 12 -24 Month...dont know,realy ! Every time when i am interested to visit this server for maybe a full map rotation,...10-15 guys are the favorit theme in the chat or team speak ! Hey,....i am german and knows from the first moment,what is allowed and what isnt !!! CROUCH SERVER !!! Before i was gone on this server i knew,it must be SOMETHING SPECIAL and NOT NORMAL !!! So i was viewing the other guys for 5 minutes,....reading what are doing others wrong,....and in that moment i was involved within the rules !!! ABSOLUTLY EASY to learn , because i WANTED learn whats right and whats wrong !! 7 of 10 new players...DONT READ....DONT LISTEN...WONT LEARN !!! This is,what i am seeing every time ! To play on the OTAC server is absolutly nice,no question ! But ,sometimes i must finish gaming here,because there are TO MANY guys on same moment on this server,who WONT LEARN and provoke !!! This is the bad side of the OTAC coin !!! And sometimes i think,other players thinking same like me in that moment ! |
