In the last two weeks (i think), vote is behaving strange. With mapchange to mapchange it dis-/enables itself. Sometimes in the middle of the map. Once i called it, was almost finished with the selection, and pressed the vote- button, i got told that vote isnt enabled on this server. At this time no Admin was online or joined or started rcon (to disable vote). 1st i thought, that this happend only to some of the maps, but as far as i noticed, it happens randomly. just to let u know... . |

Currently the voting is handled as follows .... 1. At the beginning of EVERY map .... voting is re-enabled. 2. During the map, if an admin types ANYTHING in text chat (asserting they are present), voting is disabled. Rationale: A. If an admin is connected and AFK ..... voting will stay enabled. B. If and admin is playing the game and not adminning, voting will stay enabled. C. If the admin is adminning, they will like type something in chat at some point, disabling the vote. D. Don't need to remember to enable or disable vote, it adjusts itself on map-start E. if all admin leave the game, then there is no voting until the next maps starts, so minimal exposure. I suspect if the voting was disabled mid-vote, then and admin was in fact present and typed something (perhaps incognito). I am open to other ways to detect admin presence if the above is sub-optimal for some reason. Last edit by BitterSpock at 2016-02-25 at 2:48 PM (1x Edited) |

I didnt knew that first. Maybe i was just watching, that everything did work perfect. U did a great job Bitter. I appreciate that. Even the autokick for over 35 kills using no bolt/shotie. I also appreciate to be the object of ur special duck jokes, but as i said, i m glad that its turned of, because otherwise, with others quacking too, screen would always be full with quacks and quacknowleged... bert... P.S. ...im writing duck tape this way 'duck-tape' )) |

I forget to tell about at the meeting, because i thought reasons are already be explaned by Bitter. But on thursday, before the meeting vote started again to behave strage. There may have been an admin online, using another profile to play. But also yesterday and today it has happend several times, that vote 'disabled itself' (...to me...). I couldnt see a pattern in the behaviour, like player x typed something in chat, vote got disabled. As before. Maybe there is nothing wrong and everything works just the way it should work. I just noticed, that vote behaved slightly different, then on other days. bert... P.S.: is it possible, that i am the one, who is the trigger 4 disable vote? I just did the following twice. Right after map start, vote was enabled. I typed 'quack' and 5 secs later vote switched to disabled. P.P.S.: i reproduced that three more times... joined, selected team, pressed esc, typed something, pressed esc... 2 sec later, vote get disabled... in game ....... type: hi all in global text chat ..... if the console responds: hello <your name here> You are seen as an admin and voting is disabled when you type text in a game. |

hi all will respond "hello <playername>" if you are an admin (I have your GUID in the list) if you are an admin, <any text> will disable vote Last edit by BitterSpock at 2016-03-08 at 3:19 PM (1x Edited) |

The enabling rcon command failed, and my code thinks it is enabled so it does try again each map. I changed it to unconditionally attempt to enable vote at the start of each match. So if rcon command fails, at least it will try again on the next map. |
