Hi Mr Jefferson, I was also playing in game at the time this happened. I am sooo glad you had a recording of this incident. It shows a couple of things, and I can see there is fault on both sides of this. Firstly, the offense that Curly warned and then kicked you for is "burst running". I watched the video, and if I am splitting hairs, I see you burst run about 5-6 times in the video, the first time is in the first 2 seconds of the video. Burst running is when you take a few quick steps out of crouch, or maybe a slight run when you throw a nade, or coming around a corner, or maybe you aim down sights while walking and then either reload or cook a nade, that will cause you to burst run as examples. While you video shows that you only did this ever so briefly, it was enough to catch the attention of Curly. So now he is watching you. He issue you a warning (I checked the logs, so your title is incorrect, you simply missed it). Later in the video, I see the last burst run, which got you the actual kick. Your video shows that you tried to throw a nade (time 4:35 in vid), and it hit the tin roof and came back at you so you quickly ran from the danger. Clearly Curly did not see this, he may have only seen the run, but not the fact you were running from nade. So the kick for solely that run was unwarranted. It was a 5 minute kick. Later you came on TS and curly was very polite stating that if he was wrong he would apologize, and if you had a demo video he would review it. So I see fault on both sides here. You were burst running (albeit slightly, but repeatedly) prior so the warning was not un-warranted, and while I personally may have let it slide, it was withing admin discretion. Please try to refrain from burst running. Curly explained that we expect more from our regulars and I would agree. As far as the kick, I think that was a mistake, based on the burst run that triggered it. Curly missed the nade. It happens. So from his perspective I understand he was trying to get it right, and absent the nade it was a warranted kick. But there was a nade, so that is fault on our end and I apologize for that. And I know Curly is a stand-up guy and he will make good on his promise to extend his apology too. We are not perfect, lets all try to do better on both sides, and regulars refraining from burst running certainly lowers the number of things for us to admin (and possibly get wrong). I was happy to see Curly express an open invitation to you to join in the fun on TS, and clearly his goal was to correct an unwanted behavior and not to punish. Thank you making this post Mr. Jefferson, lets all agree to do better going forward. Regards, Bitter Last edit by BitterSpock at 2016-07-09 at 8:46 AM (10x Edited) |
