Your In-Game Name: Aezoph Server you were banned from: Tactical Crouch Your GUID: http://steamcommunity.com/id/TheAezoph/ Time/Date of the ban: December 31st, around 1 AM. Reason for ban: Suspected Hacking. Admin who banned you: Console. Assuming it was Honda as he was the one reviewing the demos sent from another player. Home country: United States Why you believe you should be unbanned: I was not hacking. Some of the admins and myself had a discussion about courses of action for good players, them and myself included. The clips were sent in by a player that was making a demo of my perspective while spectating. I was unsuccessful in getting the demo software to work to review these myself, but it is claimed that there was a shot I take through walls that I shouldn't have been able to make. I disagree with one firm reason and a second possible explanation for the clips: First: I am able to shoot through walls and regularly get kills. Not every shot works. With clues to an enemies position such as sound, previous location and direction, common hiding spots, and tracers, it is very possible to make suspicious shots. Sometimes, its plain old luck and a good spray. Secondly: The demos do NOT show my actual perspective. They show what the server is able to make of my perspective. Actual game play footage can differ greatly from demos, especially if the recorder and player have different graphic settings. I may see a gun poke through a wall, whereas they do not have the LOD high enough to see that model from that far. I will be supplying the requested demos AND gameplay footage from Shadowplay. Demos and video. The servers I played on was a plain old HC server, and the non HC fast xp server. There are two demos, as one game was very very long and the other i forgot to stop. https://www.dropbox.com/s/s7myy4xrdojs6s r/aezoph3.dm_6?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/sts3q6e812pgpv 1/aezoph4.dm_6?dl=0 The actual gameplay doesn't include the first part of the first demo because I didn't think to record until about mid match in the first game. It is split up because that is how shadowplay records the last 15 minutes, and it makes it easier to upload to Youtube. I also have the shadowplay of the last 15 minutes in server before my ban. I have reviewed the OTaC recordings. I will now begin reviewing Aezoph's recordings. Aezoph, I have reviewed the recordings. BluePhoenix indicates he has explained our concern for server-killing players. This is a non-competitive server for those who just want to have fun. The mere perception (due to over-dominate game play) that a player is hacking is enough to shed players from a server. We have summonable rules (!r, see rule 10) that explain our expectations for reducing risk of conflict in this area. We also have automated limitations that will kick players who stray beyond certain play characteristics, such as high-killing weapon use, kill-death difference limits, etc. We find we must impose these limitations on some players who find it difficult to moderate their own game performance. I prefer players self-limit and hope we can avoid these steps. Sometimes we will ban a player so they will begin a dialogue with us. After reviewing the recordings I can see a great deal of skill in the way you play games. I do not feel you are using a wall hack. After you respond to this post, indicating you understand our concerns and express a willingness to help keep our server a fun place to be, I am going to ask that your ban be removed. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. It is not always an easy task to keep a server friendly and fun. In fact it can be a very bumpy ride at times. I feel I can speak for many in expressing our appreciation of your response to us. Thank you Aezoph ------------------ Something Really Witty!!! Thank you for the quick review and response. Up to this point, I have been playing with intent on topping the scoreboard. I can find just as much fun in challenging myself with underused weapons. Self limiting doesn't entail less fun, only more challenge and I can see the value of it. Thanks for understanding Last edit by honda at 2016-12-31 at 10:31 PM (1x Edited) |
