1 - Much less special "only gun" maps (knives only, pistols only, shots only) and more normal for ALL maps; 2 - All maps on the mapcycle (all means Dome, Gates, Station, Makin N/D, Banzai, Seelow, Downfall); 3 - Weapon restriction at 25 kills for all players based on Kill Per Minute ratio; 4 - No more 40+ penalty, no more 50 penalty; 5 - Increase score limit for DOM maps, from 200 to 300; 6 - Increase time limit for Seelow and Downfall maps (because you have to walk too much from spawn to recover the lost terrain when killed); 7 - Ban permanent Bitter for boring little jokes. |

I kind of like the variety. Normal for -all- maps is a no for me. Dome and Asylum just turn into huge clusterfucks. About Dome and Seelow, imagine Seelow on a near-empty server and Dome on 18v18. It isn't fun. The score limit for DOM from 200 to 300, I do heavily agree with. Last edit by subzjee at 2017-03-20 at 7:35 PM (3x Edited) |

1 - Much less special "only gun" maps (knives only, pistols only, shots only) and more normal for ALL maps; Everybody got bored with the same stock maps TDM over and over and over and over and over. The variations in ruleset and gametype were intended to break up that monotony 2 - All maps on the mapcycle (all means Dome, Gates, Station, Makin N/D, Banzai, Seelow, Downfall); Maps that are not in rotation by default are not there for a reason. The server population fluctuates and some maps are not suitable to the number of players. Dome is too small for a full server, unless we are doing shotgun or knife. Breach becomes a camp fest unless there are admin present Makin N/D it is too easy to have one team get trapped in spawn and if no admin present becomes a lopsided map. Banzai either has bridge campers or the tunnel becomes a standoff choke point, neither team can push into or out Seelow is too big if there are only a few players. Downfall is too big for a few players, and if full one team can be trapped in spawn. Station is also too big, and it becomes a camp fest from the overlook points or king of the hill in the middle. So when these maps are played, we usually do it with pistols, shotgun, knives, no_guns, and sometimes with domination game type so that the camping aspects are diminished, because you have a short range weapon or motivation to move to get objectives. 3 - Weapon restriction at 25 kills for all players based on Kill Per Minute ratio; We have a global limit in the rules at 30, but we give a grace period to 35 kills. We do put players at a 25 kill weapon restriction as we deem it necessary. Since some matches we have different rules the numbers can get skewed, like knife or shotty with a few players on dome, you end up with high scores. So GameTracker stats could not/should not be used. So I use our own internal data since we have to look at it subjectively on a case by case basis. This is not automatic, and it is usually the observation of gameplay which gets people on the list. Or maybe they get get banned and we put them in a list. We have plenty of data to look at to make this determination, and it is more detailed that kills per minute or score per minute 4 - No more 40+ penalty, no more 50 penalty; If I remove this, here is what happens..... Players score 40+ over and over and Honda bans you for server killing, and players think your hacking and leave. Players score 50+ over and over and Honda bans you for server killing, and players think your hacking and leave. That is not better for you, not better for us. 5 - Increase score limit for DOM maps, from 200 to 300; This is an excellent suggestion. I will see if it is possible and do it. Maybe start with 250 and then adjust up or down after we see how it goes. 6 - Increase time limit for Seelow and Downfall maps (because you have to walk too much from spawn to recover the lost terrain when killed); I think the time is global to all maps, but these maps are polarizing, some love them and some hate them. For the ones that hate them it is no end of torture now extended. Also if it was a campfest it prolongs the agony. So no change. 7 - Ban permanent Bitter for boring little jokes. These are also polarizing. You either love them or hate them. I am never going to get rid of them, but I will see if I can change them up. |

Only possible change I agree with is the point limit from 200 to 250/300. The rest of the rules work very well. |

Agree with raising the point limit to 300. As well increase spawn protection. In most maps you got to get away and it is not posiible. As well the constant moaning about flame throwers in shotgun maps. Bolt only should mean " Bolt " only as a pistol is not a perk. |

2017-03-21 at 5:05 AM - BitterSpock: We have a global limit in the rules at 30, but we give a grace period to 35 kills. I think the "grace" is to kind, the warnings comes at 33 and almost all regular players dont switch to bolt until they hit 34. The warnings to switch to bolt should come at 28 and auto kick at 32. ------------------ For you its, [Sir]-Pingo- ooyeah baby... |

Flame throwers are a perk that have the same range as the farthest shooting shotgun (Trench gun with grip). Bazookas are also a perk, but have long range, which is why they are not allowed on shotgun maps. As far as the other additional proposed changes (spawn protection, warning levels, etc.), my opinion is they work perfectly the way they are. I am an average player, at best, and I have no issues with the way things run. Enjoy the relaxing video game everyone! |
