I have noticed recently an increasing number of people jumping down stairs. This may appear to be a trivial thing, but they are doing it to gain an advantage. It is quicker than walking and similar to jumping around corners. And annoying only me it seems but I thought I would bring the matter up for discussion in case I'm not the only one that thinks this. |

We all jump from other things it's the only way down . I don't have a problem with that it's just the stairs that bug me because they can be walked down. |

I've noticed this aswell, and I have to admit I do it sometimes when I am throwing a nade or smoke grenade (to make it go further). OT: It is a only crouch server, so I guess jumping is not allowed, but that's not up to me we'll see what the admins decide |

In my opinion, if you are climbing a stair, you can jump from it. But if it's a stair that cant be climbed, you must crouch |

Jumping is allowed in an up and down direction, not laterally. but not to avoid fire. However lateral jumping IS allowed to jump a gap to get to a spot (short run and jump). Jumping down is to be confused with walking off the edge of a cliff or ledge, that is allowed whenever. Asylum is a good example. There is an internal staircase. you can climb the wrong edge and drop down to the bottom stairs. That is fine. Outside near the archway tunnel there is a staircase going up, you can jump off the edge and drop down. Revolution you can always exit via a window or of an upper ledge. Jumping down stairs is not allowed as there is no gap or spot that you can't get to without doing that. One other case is you have a teammate prone blocking the stairs and you have to jump over them to get past, I see that and jumping over a gap to get to a spot. I would not be upset if that was the case. I personally have only seen people jumping down a flight of stairs maybe 2-3 times since I have played at OTaC. This sounds more like........ "A player jumped down a flight of stairs and then they shot me and I am mad about it." I agree it is not allowed but I don't see anything to do other that to ask the player to not do that. Don't sweat the small stuff. If you see it happen once, let it slide if you see the SAME player doing it often, then you should intervene. Again Don't sweat the small stuff. |

Hi Bitter Yes I understand what you are saying I jump when necessary. I was mad about being killed by someone jumping down stairs when there was no reason to, I commented about it in chat as I believe when I have been playing recently that this is increasing. Then on the next map battery I watched someone spawn outside near the mines crouch into the building pull out there pistol and jump down the stairs into the tunnel. Effectively jumping round the corner and it's not the first time I have seen this. It was also an otac member. That is why I have asked about jumping. |

Send me a PM about the otac member .... including if it was me mackey or honda. And thank you for framing the context of the jump. |
