Name: connor12568 Reporting: [OTaC]_DerOpa_ Time: Feb 7 2022 @ roughly 4 PM EST Description: Hello! I'm posting this as a formal complaint towards the admin, [OTaC]_DerOpa_ This is not for ill-will or "because I don't like them". I simply noticed that this particular admin wasn't doing his/her duties as an admin and may have been abusing their powers. To summarize, this player disregarded an active runner on the server for an unreasonable amount of time. They then proceeded to warn me for crying (which if it's warranted okay, but I do not feel as though it should be.) and another player as a "troll" for simply complaining about the fact that they won't do their duties as an admin. I have a video detailing what happened. If anyone can shed some light as to why they did this. I may not be understanding what was going on, etc. I am happy to hear it. I was told by a couple admins on TS that the best course of action was to report them publicly, on the forums. I left this video uncut and fast forwarded it to show how long this took place. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XKu_2lBSn0 0:00 At the start you can see GYN-Kenobi telling Spider to crouch. The total footage was 10 minutes but I was able to shrink it down to 3 with fast forwarding. I want to note that Spider was already running before this footage as well. DerOpa was present for all of this but I do not have that proof until the video shows him chatting/the scoreboard. Someone higher up would have to check logs to see when they were logged in. 0:08 I noticed Spider running for the first time (on video) here. I failed to slow this down in the video but if you need that part just ask. You can see it if you slow it down on YT. I still have the raw video if you want it in full, just ask. 0:13 You can see Der typing in chat before hand but I put this bit in here to show that they were present on the server during all of this. 1:35 - 2:00 At this point you can clearly see DerOpa would rather warn/give rules to RULE ABIDING players than admin the dingus that has been running for the last 10 minutes. Rest of the video is just him not doing anything/warning another player for, in my opinion, an illegitimate reason. All I'm asking is that admins do their duties. If not, why are you an admin? I come on to chill and have fun. I get there are runners but to have an admin on and not do anything for the most of the match is lazy. I expect it to be taken care of. Instead, I was warned and the runner had free will. I left because that isn't an enjoyable environment. I'd rather take over the responsibility myself if you no longer wish to do it DerOpa. Hi Connor! It was me who played. Yes I did look at the runner and he did nothing wrong in my opinion. I even thanked the suspected runner for complying with the rules. I watched the game for some time and all you did was complaining about admin shooting into spawn whilst we all pushed the spawn as thats how we play the game. And for that I told you stop telling nonsense. I watched fatspider for some time. Feel free to contact me anytime. |

Two things wrong with this. 1.) Did you watch the video? In the video you can see him running on three separate occasions. Maybe you were just missing it but me and at least 3 to 4 other players were in chat saying he was running and you were doing nothing about it. It isn’t a point of if he was running or not. It was clearly visible in the video multiple times, that isn’t up for debate.. 2.) Not once did I ever mention that you were spawn camping. That was the other player. All I said was if you were even an actual admin considering that you did not do anything the entire time. If anything, I was on your side saying I had faith in you that you would actually do something about it. If you wanna get on TS and talk about this I will gladly sit with you through the video and show you where you’re wrong. I still do not believe what you did was correct in anyway and I want other peoples opinions on this. What I saw during the entire match was a incompetent admin, that had a power trip and thinks they’re right. The video and your response portray two completely different outcomes. One of them is you typing and the other one is literal recorded evidence so I beg you to watch the video and see where you did nothing the entire time and then warned two players that were just trying to tell you the someone was running. Regardless if you think he was running or not. You can see in the video him running on those three separate occasions. If you believe he wasn’t running that shows your lack of spectating and your lack of actually paying attention to what the players in the server are telling you. Maybe you had an off day, I’m not really sure; but, the fact that you just sat there and told me that you did nothing wrong is an insult. I would have no problems if you just apologized and said you had messed up but the fact that you actually are trying to defend this… Of course, I’m not the ruling figure on this. I’ll await a higher ranking members remarks. Unless you want to rethink your response and I may drop the whole thing. - Connor |

I would like to know who you are, for someone who is the first Time on the Server with that name , you know alot about admin and the bot, maybe Bitter can show us the Info by tracking the GUID or IP wich Names you are using, or you can tell us by yourself. I dont like how you say incompetent to someone, you dont even know, if you think you are more competent , then ask a Admin to sponsor you to be a sponsored Admin, but like i said , youre name show up the first Time February, 05 , i saw the Video too and talk to the Admin, he explain to me , that he did not realize at first he had Tags on, normaly its his non Tag used Name, then he said he was in the same Team, he look at him when being dead, everytime he wtached him , he did not something wrong, so the Admin !ty to this player, a Admin is doing Action when he saw it by himself, not if someone is saying something, he take a look then when get notice it, as the time he take a look , he was within the rules. It happend to me too sometimes , when i am in a match i do not follow all textes at the screen, so dont take thing so sriousely, there is a buffer in some action, we are not heavy handed Admins , normaly we should not act heavy handed, but there are Admins on , they didnt even react at all, what is making me angry, while Opa was reacting and take notice. If I did anything wrong I apologise. Firstly i watched the player you complained about for some time. Secondly I spawned the rules to all of you after I realised I had my Tags on. Thirtly I have been playing as aforementioned with my tags on which I did not realise. Furthermore no player tells me to kicki somebody whilst I did not see it. Thats why I trolled you. And you did acuse admins of firing into spawn. As well we have to have time off and I made that mistake of playing with my tags on. if you would at least have the courtesy of stepping out from youre cover would be a start of a conversation. I got a suspicion who you are and narrowed it down to 2 names. I shall be looking out for you in TS. Nothing more to be said on my behalf. My name has never changed. I am genuinely new to this server. (I may have played a few times in earlier years. This is still under the same name, connor12568. I have experience as I am an admin for a similar style server on Black Ops 1.) Instead of peaking at him while dead, he should have gone to spectate and watched him. Not peak at the cam on death. To me that looks lazy, it may be that that’s just the way the server admins and if that’s the case, OK. But that doesn’t seem right to me, if I see a couple players complaining about the same person running I would go to spectate and watch them and see what they’re talking about. I asked on team speak first if this was a normal thing and they said no. That’s why I posted this, I don’t think it’s heavy-handed to go to spectate and watch someone that’s running. He was being too laid-back and it caused people to quit and not wanna play. If this is the way that you guys admin, then all right. So far I haven’t seen really anything from anyone else telling me otherwise. Speaking of heavy-handed, what the heck was the warnings that he dished out at the end of the video? You’re confusing me with the other player that you !trolled. Look at the chat logs, look at the video, that is not me. The one thing I said is are you even an admin, and then you warned me for crying. Not once did I mention spawn camping, why would I complain about that when I’m literally on the same team as you? If you didn’t know that you were admining, then OK. Why didn’t you tell me that in the first post? In the first post you said you did nothing wrong so I’m kind of confused. If you truly believed that you didn’t “have tags on” then all right that’s fine, mistakes happen. I just wish you would’ve said that in the first post so I didn’t have to write this. If you see me on TS I’ll talk to you, but really there’s nothing left to be said here. My name on TS is just Connor, there’s no narrowing down needed, I’m not trying to hide from you. |

You ask for a response of an higher ranked Admin, thats why i was telling you what je told me, that he did not notice waring Tags and he then saw it and try do figure out and get into it, but its no need to make such a conversation of it on the Server and start a discussion with others who then get stimulated about discussion and then they start say stupid things like , the Admin dont care about it, for this Action the player get set as toll, because HansUK is one of our patient Admins and are Deal fair every time hes online. Let us Chill and apologize ,that there was a mistake the Admin in disguise did not notice he had Tags on, but the he tried to take care, Admins want to play too and there were some mistakes happend together at one time , let us have a good time in playing and try next time please to help out ,if the Admin dont take notice of it, or please type in teamchat to the Admin till he respond , its only tip, but thank you for the apologize, i will except it

So the chat is in the prior post. I see madenadem is frustrated since admin are shooting into spawn on cliffside. I see at least 4 players report fat spider for running I see Der_Opa NOT address the runner, and not address the spawn shooting I see connor question Der_opa as an admin because he is not admining. I see Der_Opa belittle connor with !wcry which tells him to go put on Adele and have a good cry. I see lot's of remarks from madenadem, and Der_Opa chooses to admin THAT and designates him as a troll 1. I wish Der_opa had taken time to address FAT Spider running - 4 different people mentioned it. There should have been at a minimum a general !wr or !r1 !r2 even if you were not going to !sr spider But I would ahve simply done !sr spider so that the players know that it is being handled. It was not being handled. 2. I am okay if Der_opa choses to NOT admin, but if you do, use a profile name that does not have OTaC tags so there is no expectation of admining by others, and also don't text in game as that disables vote kicking. 3. connor was asking respectful questions throughout the match. He is a new player or at least his GUID is fairly new 4. madenadem could have been less loquacious and less irritable in his textual interactions. I support using !troll usually when a player is spamming the screen, but I somehow feel he had a legitimate point that was being ignored by Der_Opa. Players are not perfect. Admin are not Perfect. My assessment of what happened is not perfect. Let's all try to do better going forward, and try to enjoy the game. The most important rule is: NO DRAMA - Especially if it creates a burden of fact-finding and analysis for BitterSpock. |

Thanks for making a post about this Connor, this was an especially frustrating game. Der Opa had indeed been camping our spawn without pushing it, which is not unusual on this map, but it felt particularly cheap coming from an administrator. I initially called them out on it, to ensure they were aware of what they were doing, I had never seen this admin before after all... On that map, the "runner" had been running constantly, without much breaks, for 10+ minutes. They were not trying to be discrete about it at all, truly I cannot understand how Der Opa missed it. They definitely didn't spectate them, or pay any kind of relevant attention if they managed to miss it. At that point, I just couldn't understand how an administrator was not seeing this very obvious runner, while having multiple players call out the runner for 10 minutes. I did get pretty frustrated after getting killed in spawn so many times, and then seeing the runner go scott free. Then I got muted for celebrating. I just left the server because I felt like this admin was abusing their privileges. Thankfully I was able to explain myself another day to another administrator (in less than 5 messages somehow) and they unmuted me. Not cool Der Opa, I know it can be easy to miss cheaters, but sometimes its just so obvious that you should believe your player base when they mention it. Totally understandable if sometimes you don't want to admin, but then please make us able to vote to kick players that break rules, to have a little bit of order in the server. |

It is time like this where I would like to enable something like a player could type: !help your message here and that message alerts our senior admin to come to the server if possible In any case : Connor - thank you for this respectful post - that is how to do it - appreciated Madenadem - I understand your frustration - it can be annoying - please consider that admin are players too and sometimes they like to just play, but I do agree if they have OTaC tags on they should address the issue. Cliffside is problematic in that it is easy to get spawn trapped, same for downfall, and makin, and even asylum. Please also consider being antagonistic or confrontational - even if justified usually does not end well - things tend to escalate. I would rather you just post here rather than try your luck in game to get justice. Der_opa - if you are not going to admin - please remove the OTaC tags for that game and put them back on when you are ready to admin. If you have tags on in game i think it reasonable to expect that you will handle admin duties. I make a "off duty" profile that I play under when I just want to play. It would have been trivially easy to have issued a warning to the player, so I don't understand why that was not done. |
