Whilst sponsored a lot of the problems involved people burst running. If they're speaking English it's easy to flash up the define burst running message.

But with the majority not speaking English, it's hard if not impossible to let them know what they are doing is wrong. It's fine to warn them in their language that they're burst running. But if they don't know what burst running is, they're going to keep doing it until kicked, then eventually not wanting to come back.

The same with the define run, which states that running isn't just holding the sprint button, it's also walking without sights up whilst standing. That's where I've seen a lot of non-english speakers slip up over and over.

For new players joining the server at unfortunate times, like special game modes, bolt only etc. It shows in English. There's no !wbo or !bo for translation and the player if they finally get it, end up thinking the whole server is bolts only.

I think this needs to be addressed, translation is important if the server is to carry on. A lot of players are from all around the world, they deserve to play too.

This community has people of many languages and nationalities. I'm sure they would help with the translations, even google translate has gotten surprisingly accurate lately. Pooling the resources of the community, make a post with the things you need translated and into what language, a person can contribute by leaving a reply, you can then tick that specific line as done etc.

Thanks for reading.

This isn't an oversight or something that the clan has not been aware of for 10 plus years until now. Good idea, yes, implementing it is another thing. Kindly stated, assign yourself the task and you'll see what I mean.

At one point a few people were working on this but that ball got dropped for various reasons/difficulties. It can be a real task to do this properly in all languages such as our rules are already. Or perhaps we should start a donation pot that would go toward paying for an accurate translation service needed to do the translations properly? Yuk, reminds me of getting my marriage and divorce papers translated... Google translate isn't the most accurate and we don't have a member or two from every country fluent in the associated language that could provide accurate translation. A few we may, but not all of them. Perhaps the few we have could be a start?

It would no problem to do so, but i think it is enough when we scroll the rules in there language, if Bitter need to translate all in the languages, it would be a Administration Marathon to search at first where the player is coming from and then you need to know all the right command for the bot , but sometimes the bot dosent Show any location, or this player use VPN to hide the real location data. We had this in discussion.

Most new players who don't speak English I imagine don't understand the game rules text at the start of matches or when they join

I think that it wont be a project completed in a day, but a start is a start, keep adding to it and eventually it will be done.

I feel sorry for the new players looking for a server to play on. They must be so confused when they are kicked. As the western world moves on to newer games, a lot of people stay with the originals like russians etc.

There is an issue with symbolic languages (ie. Asian) or cyrillic styled languages (ie. Russian) in that the game simply doesn't support those languages. The more common languages such as German, French, Italian etc are much easier and we have rulesets for each of them.
The command !french:rules (for example) will display the rules in french, and you can also select the specific rule that you want to convey such as !french:r1 which will give the #1 rule in the selected language. Additionally you can enter the following command into chat if you know their language by using !info name which will let you know the region they are from, and then !french:rule name will give all commands to that individual in the language selected. We do support English, French, German, Polish, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian (translated into english characters), Dutch, Italian, Finnish and Croatian, Hope this helps a bit.

French translation has been around for along time La Tatane.
!r french
!fr:r1 or !r2, etc
!fr:wr name - and should put each subsequent warning etc, in French for that person. Works for Spanish and some others.

if you read the post, these aren't the ones that I'm talking about. It is the ones like the popup that says bolt only, etc when playing other modes.

It's also for the defines, telling people what the server defines different things as is only in English, and should be available too.

There are three aspects of this:
1. having the bot be able to do this
2. having the actual translations
3. motivation

The bot can do #1 for the most part.
I don't have #2 and not much in the way of #3.
