This guide is intended for newer players who struggle to keep up with the top players. Some may seem obvious to you, but may help someone else. I will keep adding to this guide as I think of more tips that could be useful. ◈Locating an enemy by their characters chatter In a server where there are no footsteps to tell you where your enemy is, sound is vital. So a stereo headset with L/R will do fine, you can buy an expensive one if you wish, but really doesn't matter that much. The shout-outs enemy soldiers make are actually related to what's happening in game. We can use this to our advantage, firstly check your team and enemy team so you know who to listen for. It's good to be on the non English speaking team as its harder for enemies to use these methods against you. To locate an enemy using their chatter there are a couple of methods. The first is to wait for them to talk, which is unreliable. The second is to force a character to talk. This can be accomplished by shooting the wall to test where you think an enemy is; their character will shout "They're shooting through the walls" something similar for non English speaking team. Similarly you can throw a nade or gas and they'll yell the appropriate response. IF you have a stereo headset(one with a left and right) you can accurately locate the enemy by moving your mouse side to side to see where the volume of the enemy is the same. When you find that point, your enemy is in-front of you depending on the actual volume that's how far they are from you. ◈Where there's smoke, there's players Most players throw a smoke down to cover themselves moving across an open space. I like to use this as an opportunity for a cheap kill, a few seconds after the smoke is popped. That's when they'll cross, put yourself in that players head.. when would you cross? Then spray into the smoke for the kill. I said this was a cheap kill, most of the time you'll just hitmarker and lose them. But I've gotten some cheeky kills like this when it's unexpected. ◈Wallbang wallbang wallbang Almost half of my kills are pretty much wallbang luck shots. Fire through the walls into areas that could potentially have a player, areas like sniper nests, windows etc. 60% of the time, you're going to hit something. Then you must continue to hit them as they will start to run, so you need to adjust accordingly. A whole chunk of cover in this game is completely penetrable. Use that, and deep impact to make them bleed. While a lot of objects are not penetrable, there are workarounds. For example; if your enemy is hiding behind some barrels which cannot be shot through, aim in between the two barrels where the material is at its thinnest and you'll hit the person through it. ◈Know the best spots To get an advantage in the game, you'll need to find the best spots. By this, I mean spots that not many know of and will not be looking at. There are countless guides on the web that will show you neat spots for the maps in rotation at OutTact. ◈Finding a camouflaged player Having trouble locating a player that's hiding in the bushes and using a flash suppressor? The solution is to stay as still as possible and aim your sights down to the possible area. Don't move your mouse at all, and look for the idle animation as it will stand out as the graphics in the game are old you will be able to see the pixels of the enemy and the trees kinda not looking right. Player located! (Usually the lowest graphics settings make the shrubbery etc lessen which is easier to see too.) ◈Check your map Checking your map, even in hardcore mode has it's advantages. If you are struggling to determine whether a player is on your team and you cannot see his name. Check your map. If you are looking to find enemies and the map is small/medium, check your map to see where your team are, the spots where your team aren't is the direction you should head towards. ------------------ Last edit by TheEarlyBird at 2022-07-31 at 2:36 PM (5x Edited)

The ONE area that you covered that can be more or less avoided by the player is the "kill em in the smoke" scenario. If you pop smoke ON your enemy, ands not BETWEEN you and the enemy, your movement is more easily concealed and the enemy will not be able to move effectively until the smoke dissipates. Timing your smoke when multiple canisters have been thrown is also a good tactic. Wait until the current smoke is at full volume, then throw yours in that area, or close by and preferably still ON the enemy. Taking "pot shots" into the smoke may also reward you with a "ting" or two.. |

Additional tips: 1. Try not to face the enemy head on. If you know the enemy or a group of enemies are facing or heading in one direction, try going around the other way. 2. After a while, you will learn all the languages. So you'll know when the enemy is placing a betty, even if it's not your language. 3. When the server has only 10-15 players, it's good to move around as to not get surprised from behind too much. If there over 20 players, try to move around less and move more methodicaly. There are just too enemy many players for you to sneak around. So move slowly and diligently. 4. Never be right near your teammate. That just increases the chances if you both getting shot at the same time or naded at the same time. Additionally, standing apart splits the enemy's focus |

Usually when I want to know where a player is, i throw a grenade anywhere near me, this makes the enemy shout or say something that reveals his position. Also sometimes I let my teammates go first and see if they die or it's safe jajajaj |

Ahh the sweet sounds of Bitter-ness....... This tool is perhaps your best bet for enemy location and your own teams coverage of an area; THE MINI MAP By utilizing this map you'll more easily see where your teams gaps are, where the bottle necks are and where your team is moving. In competitive clans they highly stress this one tool above all others with the notable exceptions of team communication and map layout knowledge. SHADOWS AND SILHOUETTES My favorite method of getting stabbies is by using the available camouflage and of course shadows. Shadows are your friend when you are attempting to get behind the other team, and be discriminating in your kills if your goal is to get behind them and wreak havoc. Pick your shadows near doorways, stairwells etc. Using the heavy foliage with shadows is devastating for those not paying attention and you're kd/r will show it. What I mean by "be discriminating" in your kills is fairly simple. Your choice of weapon will either hinder or compliment your intention of stealth. A silenced weapon as a backup or as main weapon is also preferred. Use the knife instead of shooting if and when you can when trailing multiple targets. Be careful though and pay attention, that evil "SWISH" might get attention Silhouettes are the FPS gamers weakness. It is so very easy to see you when your background is lit up or bright. A dark background is your friend, and that points back to shadows as well. Eliminate your silhouette and your giving yourself a better chance of getting kills and moving away safely and after the next target. |

Now just tell your character not to scream at the top of his lungs when he kills someone, that'd seal the stealth deal. |

I use satchels for the proximity warnings that come with them. Enemies usually yell something |
