Hello OTAC, I have been a member on this server for years, and recently I have noticed that OTAC members are treating me differently than they do other players and I would like a valid reason. To start, I would like to say that I am all for banter. But, mocking me in chat and falsely accusing me of breaking rules is not okay. I record ALL of my gameplay and it is clear (to me) that certain admins do not like me. I fear that I will be falsely banned from the server from these admins abusing their power. When I join the server almost everyday, I greet the players and wish them well - always with a positive attitude. Never am I angry or rude to anyone in any circumstance. Here is my problem: The other day playing against two admins and one whose name I will not mention accused me of not aiming down sights after killing him. I politely told this admin that what they had accused me of was not true, yet they insisted they were right. Along with sarcasm and rudeness. The next day I encountered the same two admins. After being called out in chat, I asked one of the admins "who pissed in your cheerios?" and to which a second admin replies "WhO pIsSeD iN yOuR cHeErIoS?" And now, every single time I play an admin falsely calls me out for breaking a rule. This sounds so childish to put in writing, but I really do not understand why I am getting treated this way. It would be one thing if we always bantered back and fourth but my attempts are shot down with warnings. What is it that you guys want from me? I will happily join the teamspeak and talk to whoever but I love this game and this server and all of the players on it and I want to make peace between the admins and me. I had always contemplated applying to join the Out Tact Clan, but I know now that I have no opportunity. I would still love to contribute to the server with my time and help staff keep the server a neutral place for fun and games but I cannot do that without all of your support. So I ask, how can we make this right? -OperatorApe |

Ape if you have an issue with admins, feel free to post their names or drop Bitterspock, rampants or Voodoo a mail and explain it to them. If warranted this senior admins will get to the bottom of this. But please if you stay within the rules you have nothing to worry and continue playing. Positive it will be sorted one way or the other. |

That was 100 percent Me with the reply. I thought it was as ridiculous as the question asked in the first place. It wasnt meant to be malicious. I dont remember exactly what you got called out for, and I dont remember the day prior to the topic of this post but....its our job to call out questionable play. Now, try to imagine a scenario where I feebly attempt to get your attention and politely ask you remove any hacks you might be running. Probably gets the ol' F U. Well the thing about it is... we do actually try to be polite about it first. And we do get the ol F U, a lot. Which sucks for us because we dont get paid for this. We give up our casual time for the entire player base and are more often than not met with overly sensitive grown men, playing a video game, who cant comprehend that we have rules we as admins have to apply to the rest of the server... for the REST of the Server. I think at the time I offered you a guest admin spot. I dont know, Ive been making this offer a lot lately for dudes who get caught up in their feelings. If it wasnt you though, let me just say... I would like to offer you a guest admin position for 48 hours of IN GAME playtime. You would be expected to be in TS with us, and learn to admin the server properly from active admins who are present with you. I would love it if you said yes, but you will likely say no. Thats what all you girls have been saying lately lol Oh and dont listen to Hans. He "quits the game" every other month because of spawn killing, or ping or... whatever. <<--- thats just a joke Hans. Just a joke |

Yes, let's do it. I would love to learn more about how the staffing side of things work with you bunch. After all, I am active almost daily so those 48 hours may fly by, lol. As for the rest of the post, I was called out for walking without aiming down sights. I am usually called out for the same reason after killing an admin/staff (not all), but never when I am being spectated so you can maybe see where my concern lays. If I was getting called out for sprinting or air knifing or something obvious, I would not have written a complaint. However, I do not understand how someone playing the game can tell whether or not I am aiming down sights when my barrel is pointed at them for a split second. Maybe it is something I am guilty of, but I have been playing back my gameplay and I do not see what they are talking about. I completely respect the work and time that each and every one of you dedicate to the server and I will never try to undermine that. I wrote the post because it seems to me that my warnings come from a place of anger as opposed to anything else. And I can only imagine the type of players that come through this server with something to cry about on a daily basis and what that must be like to deal with from a position of power. This is the first I am hearing about a temporary admin position so that was not me you spoke with. Nor do I want to give the impression that I am a lil' whiney girl but hopefully this clears up why I am confused/complaining to begin with. I hold myself accountable for all of my actions and I would admit fault if I recognized one but these warnings seem like bogus to me just to attempt to ruin my experience. Not saying that is at all the intent, but as a player that is how it translates in my case. I would like to move forward from this, so what are the next steps for this temp position? |

Ok.... well..... sweet. So for how the other admin could tell you were walking aimed down sights. if you spend as much time in spectate as we do you will just know. Its just one of those things. Also, when other players call you out for it too its a pretty big give away lol. Im pretty sure that was you. I honestly dont care though, its not that big a deal to me. Now for the guest admin, Next time i see you online I will sponsor you as a guest for the length of time that I am online. Like i said, I need to walk you through it. Youre going to need to pick up TS. Dont go for the latest version or the beta, they seem to conflict with windows 10 and up for some users. Stick with version 3.01 or whatever it is. There is a command list in the lobby of TS you can read off. We will be able to tell you most things. Thats pretty much it. You will only be sponsored when Im online. Other admins may pick up in my place in which case you'll only be sponsored when that admin is online. We want to make sure you actually learn to do this correctly. Not just leave you to it. Hopefully the right guys are around when Im not and nobody is a dick about anything. And uhh... yeah, thats it. Thanks for agreeing to guest admin. Youre the 1st one. I'll try to be online tomorrow but will most likely make some appearances on the weekend. |
