Hi Knightmare68, Hey buddy, glad to see your application to become a member. A member of our leadership team (Rampant, H8W8IN, Torgue, J-Man, Lt Jackson or me, Voodoo) will give you your OTmC tag and you will be notified here as soon as that happens over the next few days. Once you are notified you can put the OTmC tag on and you will have some admin abilities with that tag such as warnings. I am somewhat surprised that Knightmare was made a member. I for one do not believe that he qualified to be a member. As many nights that I game here he has not once been in teamspeak. I also know that there has been questions raised regarding some of his game play and camping in the game. He has not been with us in teamspeak to get to know us and to know how we handle players breaking the rules and how we deal with them. So, now all of a sudden the rules have changed as to who becomes a member? First, any player wanting to become a member should join us in teamspeak on a regular basis. It allows us to listen and see if they can maintain a certain demeanor when playing and represent OTaC like we expect. Then should that player request being a member we have a good idea if they would represent us properly. I'm not sure Voodoo you had the authority to give him tags without discussing it with Hate, Tip or myself. I think Knightmare needs to be told to join us in teamspeak when he's in game, period. If not remove the tags. I am more than happy to discuss this when on and in teamspeak. |

I have talked to Voodoo about this myself and shared my opinion that he needs to learn how to de-escalate situations more effectively, stop camping, spawn camping, join us in TS more often. I tried to stress that he needs to learn to lead by example better, which goes back to his camping tendencies. I dont personally have a problem with him being a member because he has a long way to go before I'll think about him as admin. Its on us to bring him up to speed. We can ask him to join us on ts more often but we have plenty of guys who never do ( LongTrang, FIXIT, Blunderbust) Its not an absolute requirement for training. Its my opinion that openly discussing proper protocol in global chat would actually work to make the player base better as a whole. So if we have to continually call him out to de-escalate and lead by example, the players might eventually make a complaint about him. At which point... our work is done. And he is all the way out of the clan. As it stands right now, only players holding OTaC tags are OTaC. Anyone with a sponsorship or an OTmC is our Obligation. We can give them the rope. They can pull themselves up or hang themselves with it. |

When Knightmares nomination for OTaC (admin) was turned down he applied to be a member. This application was opened on Feb 23 and remained open until April 20 and as can plainly be seen there were no dissenting opinions. On Apr 20, almost two months after applying for membership he was given OTmC status (warn only). During that period of time from Feb to April he was in TS from time to time and has already been stated has shown that there are areas that he would need to make changes to such as de-escalation, camping, spawn camping and so on in order to be considered for admin. As was stated by Torgue it's on us to bring him up to speed on expectations as a member and being open and transparent about our expectations in the global chat will have the effect of either helping him to make the necessary adjustments or open the door to removing his tags. As for simply being a member there has never been a hard fast adhered to rule about being in TS (that is an admin requirement) and it might be a good time to review member expectations and update that file. As it appears now the expectations on a member are basic at best and inconsistent as compared to the admin expectations. It should be reflective of the admin agreement and expectations so that members have the opportunity to apply themselves if they wish to be considered for nomination to admin. |
