You have a point Tom, but this has been discussed at length by regulars and members while ingame and the support is definitely there. In fact if you bring it up the first question is "are we going to do it" and my response is "show support by adding your name to the post in our forums". My suggestion is to keep it a smaller server (20-30 slots) so that when it fills we still have another server for our guests to play on. It's up to admin and other concerned players to suggest playing COD4 until it becomes part of the OTaC lexicon and by then we'll see our guests playing a few games on the COD4 server, then switching to COD5. As it gains popularity we will see it fill first, no doubt about that. Those that cannot join at that time will undoubtedly join the COD5 server, which again should be expected. There is nothing so critically wrong with the idea that we cannot make it work, it will just take some adjustments. I think it's a huge plus for OTaC, it will likely increase our membership and we expand our circle to include more players. Yes there will be some slight logistical issues but nothing we can't overcome. |

I think the same as your Voodoo, even some COD4 players who don't currently play COD5 could become COD5 regulars via the COD4 server. It could happen that by getting acquainted with the tactical gameplay this server offers, maybe they will dust off their COD5 and join us! |

I would play it also, Matter of a fact I have it installed now, It would have to be a crouch server for me... The hacking on cod 4 is out of control in some servers and it bugs me... I would much prefer to have cod 4 maps on w@w tbh.... I know this is possible from running cod servers in the past.. Either way I would play both as I do now.. I agree with every ones comments Tough call.. Will it last.. Will is grow.. Also the big question is.. Will the people requesting it be happy to help fund it to keep it running? ------------------

Is it possible to have Clan Tags without running the Game with Steam,i saw in the Lobby something like that showing up? |

You can have clan tags in COD4 the same as you have them in COD5, nothing changed there. Not entirely sure what you are asking Nair...lol |

I have open the Menu of the game by multiplayer and it says by Clan Tag steam only, so it means you need to run the game over Steam to can use Clan Tags, but i have a solution on the Web, you need to open the console . Thats what it says . Open the console by selecting "\" button (the one above TAB) and type: "/name [YOUR_TAG] yourname" for example. Then it should be enabled to select at the Menu, i dont have try it at moment . The reason you should do it is this Information below. Hello guys, as I told you before, I was overcome by anxiety, I took my steam and bought COD4, but it was not enough and I also bought COD MW2. I got tired of playing and it is extremely difficult to find servers with few cheaters, since the Call of dutty community is full of hackers. A few days ago I was on sale with 80% discount on STEAM several Battlefields, so I bought battlefield 1, 4 and 5. I am currently playing BF4 since I did not install the others. Unfortunately, the only way to have a little fun and survive for more than 30 seconds is to sniper with shots of more than 300 meters since that way I am less exposed to hackers with aimbots. I think that in a clean server like OTAC, where always or almost always, there is an admin in the game looking to ensure that hacks or cheats are not used. It would make a huge difference in any game project you want to incorporate, but especially in COD4 which is a flagship game. I take this moment to thank you for the hours of fun you provide us by constantly trying to maintain a clean server, regardless of what you decide to do about COD4. Greetings and keep it up. |

Modding allows us to have stock and custom maps and also have run limiters so you don't really have to admin anything except hackers |

When we had the modded COD5 Server, my connection speed has been at the level of a floppydisc (DSL 0,384 MBit/s). I wasn't able to dl the maps while in game, because dl was still running, map changed, dl stopped and COD5 startet to dl the map running now. But Tom offered a seperate (file-)server to dl the maps offline. If this will be possible again, we should write a onepager howto. I can try to, but my WIN GUI is a german one and some terms might not fit the exact wording. Even if it takes a while, with a speed of 1MBit/s, you can dl the maps in game. It may take just a few days/visits of the server, to get the complete cycle if they are none stock. One idea may be, just use stock maps 1st and only one custom map. and later just add (or exchange with another) a custom map. Step by step. players can get the maps. |
