Real name:
Lawrence Henley

Country and city:
Rennes, France

Language you can talk:
English

Ingame name:
LimpyLarry67, alt is LuckyLarry67

Tell us a little about yourself:
I have a post located here: https://outtact.net/index.php?mod=board&action=thread&where=39 23

How many hours do you play on our server every week:
Around 32 hours a week, seems high to me but I worked it out. Wow I'm sad.

Why do you want to become an OTaC member:
Because over the last months, I've found OutTact to be a second home. I play here for the Call of Duty, but mostly to interact with the wonderful people here. I don't speak any French, so making friends is scary for me being in France. My son helps me through the most part, but being able to socialise with people from all over the world has been amazing.

I want to become a member of the clan because I want to feel like I've earned a place here, and I believe that I can be a model member, I help players, new players who's language wasn't on the system I'd go to google translate to tell them it was a crouch server. I absolutely loved the sponsorship days as it gave me the tools to help people further. My son isn't pleased with how I'm choosing to spend a lot of my time left, but I know that it's completely worth every second.

Thank you to everyone that I talk to on TS, and for the kind words on the introduction post. Fingers crossed.

Bienvenue, larry ! J'ai habité dans Servon Sur Vilaine pour quatre ans. What part of France do reside? I haven't been fortunate enough to play with you in game or speak is TS. I play mostly between 8pm and 11pm central US time.

Perhaps there are others whom play with you that would be happy to endorse you in joining the clan! Best wishes and hope you're enjoying yourself here and in game on our server.

Cheers!

Hey Jackson! I'm currently living with my son at his place currently taking up his extension as we wanted to be closer together in my current situation, we live in La Bellangerais on the edge of Rennes, moved there from the UK. I take the odd walk when I can, but that's the most I'll get out in a week. Apart from the odd family trip to someplace I've no idea how to pronounce haha. I'm sure I'd be lost as I cannot speak French myself I don't really get subjected to it, I watch all my movies and tv shows online in English. So I'm pretty comfortable.

It is a shame that we don't see each other online, I play from 11:00am to 16:00pm Central Time.

I find that he tends to interfere when admins are on the server. I personally don't think he would be a good fit for OTaC.

Just my opinion.

What do you mean with "interfere" when Admins around? Very strange point of view you have, maybe it displeases you something else mr Veteran?

This was first brought up on the first day I was sponsored, and I guess first impressions stick. I was new to it, so if I saw someone breaking the rules I would give a warn to them even if there was more than 1 admin online, this would cause it to clash if an admin saw the same thing and warned at the same time and two warnings would show up. I would say that this classed as interfering. Which is, why I stopped doing it when you told me in loose quotes on TS "Don't use commands when there's more than 1 admin online, we have got it". I took that and learned from it.

But these days, I'm not sponsored. I don't give out warnings. But, if someone asks a question and I know the answer, I will answer it. If I see someone that isn't new breaking the rules when I die and get put into the redeploy timer I will say "X please crouch" or "X please don't burst run" then I'd show the "define run"/"define burst run" text. I do this when I think these events are too inconspicuous and there aren't any spectating admins mainly to try and get the person to stop, and at the same time make admins aware, if they stop then great if not then an admin knows as early as possible, I could shout "don't run" or "stop burst running" which is so vague that an admin would have to comb through players to find the one I would be talking about. I don't go into spectator mode and look at every player for rule breakers.

Another example I have at some points when there are no admins online been getting new players properly introduced with the rules as much as I can being a player, and they know the name of me, they will later ask another question later when some admins are online. But they don't know who to ask. They know I have been helping them earlier, so I answer any questions they have because the name is familiar. I have been called out for said interference in this situation. But I do not engage with new players joining the server anymore at all, if there is an admin online I will say "X runner" to let admin know the new player is running just like any other player would. I do this, because in the situations of new players joining the server, admins have better tools to make a new player aware of the rules.(Language tools etc)

When I am talking to players, I am doing so as one player to another. I have heard this at least a few times, that a person who is an otmc or going for otmc is role model of the clan and will help players, over gameplay. I think I do this, I'm sure the logs would say the same.

If I am wrong, and I am interfering then I am not a good fit for otmc, and I will withdraw this membership application; with sadness of course.

Nair I suggest you read the post by mister Tip in Admin discussion before you make comments.

Second I just gave my honest opinion.

It seems there is more than one that think this, why he doesn't bring up the issue with me so I actually know what it is I'm doing wrong.
I could tell the atmosphere had changed with the way communication is being made with me, who knows how many other grievances I have made I do not get told.

If you truly think I wouldn't be a good otmc. Not OTaC. I do not want to be an OTaC, I've seen and heard what it does to you.

Then to make it easier on the server, I scratch that off my bucket-list and I take back my application.

I thank you for the chance though.

Larry, it seems that there were some Admins who not like it ,when you try to help out ,or you interfere in the descisions they made , if you see Admins around ask them if its ok for them ,when you trying to explain New players the rules or if you Admining, if not, wait till this Admin/s left the server, i dont know if you are sponsored any longer, for me i was thankful any time when i gets help, but Admins here have to follow a Admins Guideline, how to Admin and how we do this in the special Situation, best is, do it ike i said here before. Greetings Florian

Larry, we tend to want people that are "helpful" but not "overzealous" which is what it sounds like to some of our members.
I would recommend that we just continue to play on and let some time elapse and we can all re-evaluate at some later point if it appears to later be a desirable outcome for both sides.

You are very much welcome to come in game and on TS and still have fun. I would ask that you perhaps soften your zest for wanting to "help" a bit as it still seems that some admin are finding it excessive.

For anyone interested in seeing it first hand, here is a onedrive link to all of my games, I record every match and timestamp the filename with the date and time. Should the need arise take a look from my perspective. The demos are individually downloadable, a lot of them are full sessions and span over multiple matches.

Date style is Day.Month.Year
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Aulx28XxIIaHasmxoENn 5z8Toz4?e=9hdj0J
link is open to anyone.

Time very much is not an option for me. I thought I was being helpful, even if there are two answers the same. It does not affect anything they get same information. I am very confused and sad and I don't know what to do.

Guidance is to let admin on the server do the admin duties, and you can focus on playing the game and having fun.

Also, Larry, I would suggest coming into TS more often so that more of us can get to know you. That helps immensely. And, as with life, listening more than speaking is always good advice. We want everyone to enjoy their experience. It is a game after all. We all need a little escape from our RL issues; please try to enjoy and don't get caught up in trying to help too much until we get there with you. Thank you.
